iResults
What is iResults?
iResults is an Internet-based reporting system that allows your lab to give your agencies secure 24/7 access to view their case status. By allowing your customers secure online access to view this information at their convenience, iResults reduces the interruptions and phone calls to your laboratory staff.
iResults shows the case as it progresses through the laboratory from Received, to In-Progress, and finally to Completed. Once the final report has been released, the status will turn into a link to the final report. The representative will be able to view the report on their screen and print it out right from their computer. The representative would log into the system using a secure login and password, and then search for the requests they are associated with.
iResults is an automated way to provide your user agencies with copies of final reports and even check the status of their requests – all without calling your lab. Agency representatives can get information and updates when they need them, and your staff has more time to focus on their analysis instead of answering calls.
How iResults works
iResults maintains a separate database on a Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). This means that the information you want your user agencies to know about the cases submitted to the lab is kept separate from your main LIMS database.
How much staff time can our laboratory save with iResults?
Many laboratories spend a significant amount of time answering calls about case status and mailing and faxing case reports to their submitting agencies. Over time, iResults can dramatically reduce the amount of these calls and requests. One of our mid-sized laboratories with a staff of 15 estimated that iResults saved them the equivalent of 1 and one-half staff position because they no longer had to take these calls and fax and mail out their final reports. Even more important, the submitting agencies are now getting updates and final reports more quickly from the laboratory.
