> Custom Development Projects

JusticeTrax has considerable experience in creating custom solutions and has completed a number of custom integration solutions for various customers, including interfaces to RMS, CAD and property management systems. From simple file exchanges to tightly integrated systems, JusticeTrax has the experience required to meet your agency’s requirements.

Below are a few projects that we have recently completed that are examples of the types of integrations we have provided:

  • Bi-directional integration with custom in-house mainframe RMS/CAD package.
  • Integration with Prison Management System for sample collection and case creation relating to Convicted Offender Sample Processing of DNA.
  • Integration with a Jail Management System for convicted offender sample processing.
  • Bi-directional integration with a Missing Persons DNA lab system.
  • Many smaller scale integrations with instrument systems to speed processing, eliminate duplicate data entry across systems, and create a paperless workflow for Blood Alcohol and Toxicology data within lab systems.

> Custom Reports Consulting

All JusticeTrax applications utilize SAP Crystal Reports for reporting. With this methodology, templates are designed using Crystal Reports and the templates are uploaded to and executed by the application. The templates extract data from the database, perform any required sorting, grouping and formatting and then present the report in a viewer. From the viewer, the report can be printed or exported to other formats such as PDF or Excel.

While your laboratory or agency can be trained to customize or tailor the desired reports, JusticeTrax often provides services to custom build these reports for our agencies. Our Crystal Reports experts can design virtually any report desired and guarantee compliance with your reporting requirements. Ask your JusticeTrax representative about our report design services today.

> Training Services

System Administrators, laboratory personnel and support staff all benefit from comprehensive product training. JusticeTrax has designed four different training programs to address users’ specific needs. The most appropriate program will be selected for your agency after consultation with one of our Implementation Specialists. Each is outlined below:

HANDS-ON
Hands-on training provides a combination of lecture and hands-on exercise with the application. Using written training modules, the instructor presents a topic then leads participants through a series of tasks to reinforce the topic discussed. While this is the most effective means of training, it requires that the agency allow sufficient time and provide the necessary training environment with enough computers available for each trainee.

CLASSROOM LECTURE
Often agencies do not have the hardware or appropriate facilities to provide for hands-on training. In those instances, our instructors use classroom lectures where topics are discussed and functions demonstrated in the application. The training modules used for hands-on training will be provided to your agency so staff can explore the system more thoroughly once deployed.

ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING
Mentoring is often used for very specific functions of the application or for more advanced training once the system has been deployed. When mentoring, our instructors sit with one (or a few) participants within their work areas and step through all of the functions of our applications as they pertain to the individuals’ job requirements. This training method allows for a very focused and immersive training experience, but is also somewhat costly in that only a few individuals can be trained within a set time block.

REMOTE TRAINING
Using an Internet based communication tool called GoToMeeting, JusticeTrax can provide instructions on system function. Through desktop sharing, participants can work with a training system hosted by JusticeTrax or our staff can remotely access your system. This method is used when just-in-time training is required. It has also proven to be of benefit during the initial deployment of a system when an instructor can demonstrate one or two configuration functions and then allow the system administrator to complete those tasks on their own schedule.

> Project Management

A smooth implementation is not the sole responsibility of either the client or JusticeTrax.

Some technical resources from your agency will be required for the successful implementation and maintenance of the system. At onset, a project manager should be identified who will act as the single point of contact and has some authority to make decisions regarding the course of the project. In an effort to ensure the success of the project and your complete satisfaction, a project manager from JusticeTrax will work hand in hand with the individual assigned by your agency. JusticeTrax Project Management methodology breaks all aspects of a project into five basic process groups. These include: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling and Monitoring, and Closing. The project management processes within these groups create the overall framework of the project, and are applied as follows:

INITIATING
The initiation processes will allow JusticeTrax to work with the customer to establish project expectations and close any outstanding contractual issues.

PLANNING
JusticeTrax will work with the customer to translate their Statement of Work into project details such as to-do lists and milestones.

EXECUTING
The processes involved in the execution of the project vary based on the scope and deliverables due to the customer. JusticeTrax may employ one of several development methodologies, create custom product, deploy product and provide installation, training and consulting services.

CONTROLLING
Control processes ensure that any unforeseen issues are worked into the structure of the plan and required change controls are employed.

CLOSING
Upon delivery and acceptance of all deliverables, the project will be closed and archived.

> Platform Consulting

JusticeTrax provides this premium technical support service, designed for laboratories with little or no IT support. Platform consulting allows you to use JusticeTrax technical support resources for issues not related to your JusticeTrax product. If you have network issues or need assistance in rebuilding a workstation, platform support is your best resource for timely assistance.
